The Rotaract Club of Colombo (RCC) has conducted
its signature Community Service Project, ‘Christmas with a Difference’ every
December for the past ten years, and will continue to do so in the years to
come. In the past, club members have visited a Children’s or Elders’ home to
spend this special day with them and spread Christmas cheer with songs, food
and festivities.
These unprecedented times have made the project
committee find creative new ways to facilitate this project in 2020. RCC has
decided to distribute
hampers of requested items to Children’s or Elders’ homes. This Christmas, the
RCC hopes to reach out and help up to 515 individuals from vulnerable
communities. The project proposal attached
to the application contains more specifics regarding the homes.
Each hamper will contain items worth LKR 10,000.00 to
LKR 30,000.00
The most commonly requested items: Basic Groceries,
personal care & cleaning products, sanitary napkins, toys, clothes, dry
rations, etc.
