Description:
Background

For over 20 years, Sugathadasa worked as a Gardner at Ladies College until he was diagnosed with tuberculosis (TB), asthma and a swollen leg with blisters, which has now been treated. However, as a result of this, he is unable to continue his work.
Somawathi worked as a cleaner at a hospital in Maharagama, despite being a diabetic patient her entire life. She is no longer able to work as her health is deteriorating due to heart failure and a gradual loss in vision due to her diabetic condition. 
Due to this, the income they previously generated is no longer available to help them survive and provide for their basic food, medication, rent and utility costs. They also do not have any children or family members to aid their cause.
They are now attempting to work through their weaknesses and make paper bags in order to sell to small corner shops for a small fee.

How you can help
The couple does not require any luxuries but only their basic necessities which they are not able to acquire from the Government Hospital.
We hope to sponsor the couple on a monthly basis for three months by covering their cost of food, medicines, rent, water and electricity. The total sum per month would amount to Rs. 19,000/-.

• 60 tablets Theofin 125mg
• 60 tablets Zaart 25mg
• 30 tablets Clopact 75mg

• 90 tablets Glipizide 5mg
• 30 tablets Piaoglitazone 15mg
• 30 tablets Om fish oil

• 30 trevia 100mg
• 60 tyroxine 100mg

Food:
• 2 packets non-fat milk powder
• 5 kg red rice
• 1 kg dhal (paripu)
• 1 jar Marmite
• 2 packets Brand crackers
Room rental: 5000/- per month
Water and Electricity: 2000/- per month
Ayurvedic treatment for Sugathadasa's leg: Rs.3000/- per month
