This
appeal is for 57 workers living in the plantations, some who have worked in
Colombo and other cities, and are now unemployed and at home without work or
wages. Some others work as mason, and are out of work due to the pandemic.
Also, due to the soaring cost of living, daily wage workers in particular, are
finding it increasingly difficult to survive.
We hope to provide
each family with a pack of dry rations, amounting to Rs. 2000, which should be
able to tide them over for about 2 weeks. The pack will comprise rations such
as rice, dhal, cooking oil, soya, soap, tea, sugar, milk powder and biscuits
for kids.
We are committed to
complete transparency. A detailed report will be submitted at the completion of
each cause. Bank charges of 2.5% incurred for credit/debit card transactions
has been added to the total value of the cause.
Because we're committed to using 100% of every rupee donated to fund people in need, we rely on small optional donations from people like you to help cover our operating expenses.
